For the Hasbro International Convention, July 31 to Aug. 2, 1998, in San Antonio, TX, a special GI JOE® TARAWA Invasion Set, 55th Anniversary, 1943-1998, was offered in limited edition for convention attendees. The twelve-inch figures are relatively accurately attired, with one exception being a plain green Marine helmet cover instead of the camouflage cover used during the assault.
